Bernat Cormand

He is philologist and illustrator. He has a master's degree in Comparative Literature from
Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Postgraduate School. His thesis title is The lyrical conception of homosexual feeling in the poetry of C. P. Kavafis, Luis Cernuda and Jaime Gil de Biedma. His artistic training includes sculpture lessons, drawing and illustration. He has worked in publishing as a desk editor, proofreader and editor. He is currently working as part-time teacher in Translation and Interpreting (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and as director of a magazine specialized in literature for children and young people. He also writes about literature for children and young people. He has been award jury member of spanish Lazarillo Prize in the category Illustrated Album (OEPLI, Ministerio de Cultura). In 2016, he spent a two-month stay at the artist residency Spark Box Studio (Ontario, Canada) to work on a picture book project. In 2019, thanks to the Montserrat Roig grant (Barcelona City Council) he was able to write a novel for young people at Fundació Joan Miró.
